Today's House-passed appropriations bill allocates $55 million from the Presidential Election Campaign Fund (PECF) for supporting local and state election administration in 2024.

Today at the Munich Security Conference Munich Security Conference, a group of AI & social media companies announced an accord to seek to develop tech to detect and label AI-generated images/video/audio that aim to deceive voters in light of crucial elections around the globe this year [THREAD]

First, the accord doesn't include commitments to prevent the generation or distribution of “deceptive AI election content” using their tools, or commit to any enforcement actions against it, such as downranking, halting resharing, or removing this content from their platforms.
