Today the Minister told me he wants to “reclaim the trust of the infected blood community”.

For the Government to do this, they need to give clear and timetabled commitments for paying compensation without delay.

I am disappointed they were unable to do so today ⬇

The victims of the contaminated blood scandal expected to be given the best possible treatment. Instead, at least 380 children were infected in a massive breach of trust and medical ethics.

All those infected and affected must receive the compensation and apology they are due.

Very sad news. Frank served the people of Birkenhead for 40 years. Everyone in the Wirral will be thinking of his life and contribution. He was indeed unique and a very special person to work with. His work will have an impact for many years to come. Thinking of his loved ones.

Two victims die every week. The government must implement the recommendations of the Infected Blood Inquiry now.
