Absolutely mad that you can just turn a shedload of non-native birds out into the countryside at all, let alone near an SSSI.

There are some wildlife organisations that talk the talk, and a few that walk the walk.

What a great victory this is over poor @DEFRA decision making, compounded by attempted cover up.

Defra has conceded that some of their gamebird licensing was unlawful.

Ministers did not adhere to the legal requirements of the Habitats Directive and the advice of Natural England.
