This morning’s visit to Samphire Hoe today, saw Rock & Meadow Pipit, Fulmar, Peregrine, Skylark, Stonechat, Swallow, House Martin, Lesser & Common Whitethroat, Chiff-Chaff, plus a supporting cast.
The main reason to visit Samphire Hoe this morning was to photograph the Early Spider Orchids, which line the path which parallel’s the railway line.
Today’s main reason for visiting Samphire Hoe today was in order to photograph the Early Spider Orchids.
Last year I broke my leg, it was bad. Samphire Hoe, rather than the Purbeck coast was my destination for Early Spider orchids this year.
I took my mate who has ME and finding orchids in the car park were perfect for her and me!

Samphire Hoe had a lovely walk along the beach today and saw loads of metal fragments and then this big lump, why is there so much metal around please?
Early spider orchids are starting to flower at #samphirehoe they can be seen from the path parallel to the railway line.

Look at those impressive teeth! Often mistaken as carnivores, foxes are omnivores & will eat fruit & berries, small mammals, birds, amphibians... whatever they can find!

She still going! Stonechat ringed as Violet over White by East Kent Wildlife Group has reached 5 years 25 days since ringing and has followed her usual pattern of summering at Samphire Hoe and wintering who knows where?
A few hours at Samphire Hoe this morning, plenty of Pyramidal and Common Spotted Orchids, found Agrimony, and some Thick Legged Flower Beetles, also numbers of Small Heath,Common Blue Meadow Brown on the wing, Ravens & Buzzards overhead.
