In a shipwreck off Crete on Thursday, the Greek coastguard was able to rescue 42 people from distress at sea. At least three people are still missing. The boat had already sent a distress call to the Italian authorities on Wednesday night.

Last Sunday night, the police in Lower Saxony forced their way into a church for the first time in 26 years to carry out a deportation. Around 15 officers sealed off the rectory of the parish of St Michael's in #Bienenbüttel and entered with a search warrant.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has announced that the border fence on the Polish-Belarusian border will be reinforced. To this end, the 5.5 metre-high fence erected in 2022 is to be reinforced with modern fortifications and electronic devices.
