Officers investigating a serious assault in Southend have made a fifth arrest.

A 19 year-old woman was found with multiple, potentially life-changing injuries, at St Marys Court, Victoria Avenue shortly before 4am on Monday (29 April).

Trip to custody for RET officers this evening after arresting a male for a serious assault in the Essex Police in Uttlesford District district after a large scale disturbance.

Today our officers have been patrolling Jaywick, in the Essex Police in Tendring District district. This has been part of a wider day of action involving the Tendering Community Policing Team, several vehicles have been stopped, proactive patrols like these not only fight crime, but also prevent it.

This week 2 RET officers have joined our colleagues at Essex Fire Service on the Large Animal Rescue Course. Responders learn to safely contain and move large animals, something the team get called to regularly #RuralEngagementTeam
