A very good thread. For those of us studying ELS in the real world, our data may never be perfect for many reasons, including non-random reporting choices (like w/ shoplifting). But we can be transparent about imperfections & more creative about tools, approaches, & methods.

A lovely evening at the UGA research award banquet, with the coolest sculpture award (that also makes a nice teardrop!) and featuring the awesome Dean Auer and Associate Dean Maltese from School of Public & International Affairs | UGA! A huge honor and tons of fun!

Such a high honor for me to receive UGA’s William A. Owens Creative Research Award this year, recognizing my body of scholarship on diversity in the courts. Incredibly grateful to the amazing internal and external supports behind this!

Things aren’t going particularly well for me and my men’s bracket, but I’m holding out hope for that top-5 finish! 😂🤣

A trip down memory lane and my high school softball coach’s comments to the local newspaper about my pitching “brilliance” have inspired me for future graduate student feedback. “Potentially decent research idea?” 😂
