Using race and ethnicity to estimate risk for diseases, such as diabetes, can yield large gains in statistical accuracy. However, @soroush_saghaf, David M Kent, Sharad Goel, and I show that, despite this, the gains in clinical utility are surprisingly modest. arxiv.org/abs/2306.10220
