Thanks to our partnership with BMZ & GIZ, we have handed over 50 new laptop computers to #SierraLeone ’s MoH to support the use of Electronic Stock Management (e-SMT) & overall data use at 44 selected peripheral health units in Bonthe, Kailahun, Karene & Koinadugu districts.

Together with a delegation from MFA Iceland 🇮🇸 we visited Konakrydee & Bailoh fishing communities to inspect MFA Iceland 🇮🇸 supported water, hygiene & sanitation projects & facilitate a ground breaking event for the construction of ECD centres #ForEveryChild , WASH & Learning!

Vaccination programs have proven to be very effective in helping to protect children from vaccine-preventable diseases. Thanks to GAVI, about 233 solar refrigerators have been provided to support vaccine storage at health facilities across #SierraLeone .

We were pleased to witness the certification of 21 nurses who MoH trained in neonatal nursing w/ UNICEF & FCDO support, to provide lifesaving care to newborns at Special Care Baby Units in Freetown, Bo, Kenema & Makeni.

The 2nd batch of 26 nurses have begun their training.

#SierraLeone has officially launched the introduction and rollout of 550k RTS’S World Health Organization (WHO) vaccine procured by UNICEF with funding from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

The vaccine is available free of charge to children 6 to 23 months.

A nationwide campaign to vaccinate children against #malaria is underway in #SierraLeone .

MoH aims to get the country's youngest residents protected from one of the leading causes of death using ≥ 550,000 doses of Malaria vaccine procured by UNICEF, with funds from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

Earlier today, six-months-old Mariama Jalloh, became the first child to receive the WHO-approved Malaria vaccine in #SierraLeone .

In the coming weeks, the 550k doses of vaccines procured by UNICEF w/ funds from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, will be rolled out in other parts of the country by MoH.
