Dr. Shahzad Ahmad has recently joined our faculty as the Unit Lead. In this capacity, he is leading the HaDPop, HaDSoc, and Infection units. Bringing with him over a decade of experience in HE, Dr. Ahmad is a seasoned medical and healthcare educationalist.

We are very proud of our Year 4 medical student, Fay Fareed, who has been crowned the winner of our region for the finals for The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh & Medtronic National Student Surgical Skills Competition 2024 and invited to the Grand Final in Edinburgh on 16 March!

Last week we held a leaving do for a much-loved member of our team, Sherrie Pomfrett, who worked as our Faculty Assessment Administrator for 6 years.

We are so grateful to Sherrie for all her support and hard work, and wish her all the best in her future!

Our Year 4 medical students, Shahid and Prince, presented during our Townhall all-staff meeting yesterday to talk about the importance of learning and teaching First Aid, as well as sharing their recent experience of providing vital aid to a fan during a match at Chelsea stadium.

We are so proud of The The University of Buckingham's Phase II medical student, Prince Tandukar, for saving a life of a 66-year-old Chelsea fan Paul Archer by performing a CPR after Paul collapsed from a cardiac arrest at Stamford Bridge in November 2023.

Meet our staff 👋

Dr Anusha Sathyanarayanan has joined our Faculty in a role of Deputy Unit Lead based at the Buckingham campus and is linked to MGD, infection and the urinary system. Anusha is an experimental biologist with over 12 years of experience in multiple fields.

Last week our Phase 1 students and our IMU Malaysia articulating students completed a #basiclifesupport training session. The #CPR dummies are versatile pieces of equipment! The equipment used in these sessions was purchased thanks to a grant from BEIU in 2022.
