Great evening showing the HBO award winning movie “Bleed Out”. Producers Steve and Margo Burrows shared the story of their mother Judie Burrows who died from multiple medical errors and the horrible Delay, Deny and Defend tactics used by the hospital making their loss even worse

This morning, learners broke into small groups to learn about and tackle human factor design flaws in common products. Poorly designed equipment and medical record flaws contribute to high numbers of preventable medical harm in hospitals.

At the Academy for Emerging Leaders in Patient Safety, we use gaming, simulation and debriefs to educate future healthcare leaders on the importance of collaborative teamwork, effective communication and leadership skills in providing safe care. This is the Teeter Totter game.
