The West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd has sanctioned an 18MW project on the Chhota Rangeet. The Chhota Rangeet Bachao Abhiyan was launched on 15th January 2023 to oppose this project which once built would impact the lives and livelihoods along the river.
