What a super end to the school today for #YorkHouseY1 . In our Geography we are travelling around the world! First stop this term, Brazil 🇧🇷. We learnt all about the Rio carnival. Today we brought the learning to life and were treated to a samba lesson and had our own YH carnival.

What a great day to learn outside. ☀️ In our science lesson #YorkHouseY1 were learning about plants. We brought this lesson to life by going outside and collecting some flowers in our amazing grounds. We then came back to the classroom and looked at them with magnifying glasses.

Reception had a fantastic time at All Saints Church on their first ever school trip! They took part in a treasure hunt around the church, listened to the Easter story and completed Easter crafts. Huge thanks to Revd Canon Miriam and her team! York House School

“A smile is the shortest distance between two people.” The pupils in Year 1 & 2 discussed what kindness means to them during Mrs Woodward’s assembly. Empathy, consideration & showing goodwill were all mentioned as they considered how kindness can be shown using #theyorkhouseway .

1G wrote some AMAZING instructions of How to Plant a Seed. On Thursday they had a very special ‘unseen’ personal delivery of VERY rare Truffula seeds which had been sent by The Lorax! They then used their instructions to plant their seeds. #funlearning #drseuss #AdventureAwaits

This week our brilliant Nursery pupils have been learning the ‘a’ sound. Today they made a-a-apple crumble by cutting up apples and using their fine motor skills to make the crumble. “It was so yummy!” York House School #AdventureAwaits
