Zarrar Khan Mohammad Bilal, MD Douglas G. Adler MD, FASGE, FACG, AGAF Elliot Tapper I agree with Mohammad Bilal, MD - ask what the risk/benefit tradeoff is.
With a median survival of 5-6 years and 0.1%/yr (NDBE) to 0.5%/yr (LGD) risk of EAC, also need to ask yourself 'will I RFA or cryo if dysplasia?' If not, why biopsy?
Zarrar Khan Douglas G. Adler MD, FASGE, FACG, AGAF Elliot Tapper Depends on overall picture -if someone w decompensated cirrhosis, will Barretts bx help, if small EV, or otherwise compensated cirrhosis I biopsy, can use pedi forceps and avoid areas where you can see varices, but while probably safe; its really case by case if worth the risk
