On this day in 1931, the Free State of Ireland travelled to Barcelona for an International Friendly against Spain.

Paddy Moore scored to help Ireland to a 1 1 draw, in front of approx 10k supporters.

Former Rep of Ireland Player, Captain & Manager, Charlie Hurley has sadly passed away, aged 87.

Capped for the first time in 1957 v England at Dalymount Park, and in his 40th, and final game, he took himself off at half time, v Hungary, also at Dalymount, in 1969..
