She’s strangled funding to higher education, but that isn’t enough. She will now directly interfere with research if it doesn’t align with her donors beliefs. This is becoming progressively more dangerous.

Show me someone who thinks academia is an exercise in groupthink and I'll show you someone who's never met Reviewer 2.

This is incredibly dangerous. Academic freedom (within ethical frameworks) is a cornerstone of producing excellent research. The UCP approving who can receive already approved SSHRC grants is a huge threat to universities and moves us towards authoritarianism. #abpoli
