Rhetoric about benefits will cause concern in mental health.

It is the new stigma - mental illness as a way of evading responsibility - & many people may be caught up in its consequences.

But - it pains me to say it - there’s a real issue here that we have to address.

It is also essential that if employment does not work out that people can reclaim benefits quickly. Supported employment schemes also will help people to regain confidence to look for other employment. Must avoid punitive approach (2/2) #MentalHealth

We know helping people to get and stay in employment is good for mental and physical health. But workplaces need to be supportive with fair pay & conditions 1/2 bit.ly/3xGVU9r
