However, newly formed structures around the bioprosthetic valve, which were not present at the beginning of the procedure, can be thrombus formations. Disappearance of the structure after anticoagulation treatment also supported the diagnosis of thrombus.

Complications of percutaneous paravalvular leak closure are < than 2%. Valvular thrombus occurring during the procedure is very rare when proper anticoagulation treatment is administered.
