If you want to generate a pronunciation dictionary for Mandarin Chinese, the most reliable way I found was to first convert the characters to pinyin and then map pinyin to IPA transcription. This is more accurate than directly trying to map characters to IPA.

Trained an acoustic model for the Cantonese data on Common Voice (ver17). It looks good. The model, lexicon, and aligned textgrid files can be found in the OSF repo of VoxCommunis: osf.io/t957v/. The file names all begin with 'yue,' the lexicon starts with 'cantonese_'

If you are a native speaker of any Sinitic language other than Standard Mandarin, please suggest a language to Common Voice. Don't get complacent about the population of your native language. They are actually under-resourced languages.
