Never before had the American Academy of Neurology advertised a drug in its annual Congress. The first plenary started with a 5-minute video on how to deliver lecanemab to patients with . As American Academy of Neurology I feel betrayed. The AAN sold some of its soul today.

Another example of FDA lowering the bar 4 approval. When a trial fails on the primary outcome, it's negative or (at best) 'supportive', but then you'd need another trial 2 B strongly positive. Here it looks like there WAS no 2nd trial since Chris said 'a [singular] large trial'.

Hard 2 fathom that this unethical practice isn't also illegal. Reminds me of Joseph Ross's paper on guest authorship 4 Vioxx m-script, but authorship shenanigans came 2 light only via litigation. Here authorship is being sold in way that's blatant & shameless. Jennifer E. Miller

'Pazdur says he would like to see more diverse views during the OPH session, not just individuals curated by the sponsor to present ‘a very positive picture’ of the drug.'

'Curated'...that's a good word to describe the process

Report from ICER on MAPS' MDMA therapy. 'we have substantial concerns about validity of results...unblinded...very strong prior beliefs of those involved in the trials...therapists encouraged favorable reports by patients and discouraged negative reports' icer.org/wp-content/upl…

1/2 Very important article, in the most well known mainstream US psychiatry rag.
'Lastly, and most importantly, we have an ethical duty to our patients to take an honest look at the evidence derived from our research when making decisions that will impact their mental health.'
