No 2: if you do get through on t’phone (total wait time 4 hours 58) they can easily override this. Weird eh? Then you’re warned your payment might be randomly selected for a security check delaying it by 6 weeks. Again, you wouldn’t know this was happening.
It’s not great is it?

Just to update you there Rob: the reason for the delay is two fold. 1. If you had a payment plan in place to spread tax payments HMRC won’t make a refund. They don’t know why. I did ask. Nor do they inform you of this. Even when you request the refund.
