Daybreak on Board Game Arena seems (1) fun as a game, (2) thought-provoking as a climate action simulation, and (3) promising as a friendly online social event for conferences.

By Matt Leacock, the designer of Pandemic.

Took a break from work to cycle over to see the Boston Marathon today, a mile before this clip.

Thrilling in its own way to see Lemma running alone, and then to see the tight pack of 15 elite women inches apart, every one a champion.

Journalists: you are not obliged to agree with our doubts about sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs).

But on sound journalistic principle, you should report: at what scale relative to jet fuel demand, in what future year, with what confidence, at what price relative to jet fuel.

This gushy coverage is premature.

A UK startup hopes to turn a limited amount of human poop into biofuels, displacing its current use as agricultural fertilizer, in some distant future year, from a factory that does not even have financing yet, let alone a construction plan.

Don't let the replies shake your confidence.

A 93-mile flight for that price is inconsistent with climate goals.

Overland travel IS lower carbon.

And the reply about a carbon-neutral airport is absurd greenwashing. It excludes the airport's jet fuel.

.Hiroko Tabuchi says that 'Airplanes also emit other pollution like nitrogen & soot, & form contrails, all of which warm the planet further.' These increase flying's climate impact by a factor of 2-3. Thus, x-country Amtrak trips do NOT emit 'more planet-warming emissions.'

Airport News VINCI Airports AirportCarbonAccredt This would be a praiseworthy environmental accomplishment, if it were not for the jet fuel.

But an airport's net zero emissions claim excluding jet fuel, the leading emissions source, is mere greenwashing.

This video explains the harm of aviation emissions, expresses hope for sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs) as one part of the solution, and recognizes the need for flying less in the future as another part of the solution.

We can do all this without losing what is essential.

U.S. Rep. Guy Reschenthaler Guy Reschenthaler calls for the Washington Dulles International Airport to be named after Donald Trump.

An airport is a prominent emblem of climate denial and a vector for pandemic disease.

It is like offering a child a sweet, and then snatching it back.

London Gatwick LGW is proud of reducing emissions from fossil fuel burn in its vehicles by 90% (!) ... excluding the airplanes.

It would be a green airport if not for the jet fuel!
