On the Canada Disability Benefit: “the (federal) government should recognize its mistake and substantially increase the benefit amount immediately.”

The proposed Canada Disability Benefit is not going to help most Canadians living with a disability and it not what people were asking for in the consultation process.

“We’re not convinced it’s even going to reach that many people. We’re hoping we can do some quick reform,” Karla Verschoor, with Inclusion BC, said. “I think the message was loud and clear that people were disappointed and frustrated”

The Canada Disability Benefit is #NotEnough . The NDP have a lot to prove to Canadians. If they are a serious political party that is serious about disability justice, then they will persuade the Liberal government to drastically improve the benefit. #cdnpoli
