Had a great afternoon speaking to the Clan Donald Society of Scotland with Lucy Ankers UofG Archaeology about our excavations in Glencoe last summer #Glencoe2023 and the Glencoe coin hoard.
Had a nice day checking out farmsteads and foresters cottages on Rannoch Moor today with Lizzie Robertson which came with the extra treat of finding an iron bloomery mound and two nice lithics!
Glencoe coins making top ten list, as well as UofG Archaeology’s two other fieldschool finds! How cool!

We (Gareth Beale, Lizzie Robertson, and me) will be chatting about all things immersive, archaeology, and landscape at the @CAA_UK conference next week. Looking forward to seeing everyone and sharing ideas.
And it’s over! We’ve had a fantastic weekend and a brilliant set of speakers. Massive thanks from the SAF team to everyone who presented and all our attendees. Shout out to UoA CPD & Event Services for their help with planning and running the weekend, both here at Aberdeen and online.
Our Glasgow contingent is looking forward to joining the rest of the committee up in Aberdeen for #SAF2023 this weekend. Big poster coming with us!
Still time to get both online and in-person tickets! 🎟️buff.ly/3t0Dpui
