Together with both development and humanitarian actors in #SouthSudan , we launched this year's Integrated Food Security Phase Classification report yesterday in Juba.

The reports indicates that 5.8 million citizens are severely food insecure.

In Magwi County, With Support from the World Bank through the #ELRP project, Food and Agriculture Organization established a tree nursery to supply agroforestry groups with seedlings.

This will help restock the forest produce fruits while scaling up the fight for climate change.

Today, FAO in South Sudan rep. Meshack Oguna Malo and WFP South Sudan country director live on SSBC discussing the upcoming WFD celebrations on October 31 in Torit.

Under the theme; 'Water is Life, Water is Food', we celebrate the importance of🌊 in food production.

Addressing the World Food Day Commemorations event in Torit, FAOSS Rep, Meshack Malo,challenged the nation’s farmers to scale-up production, become more competitive & reclaim the local food supply market dominated by foreigners & help reduce the country’s food import bill.

Canada’s Development Assistance team in 🇸🇸 representative joined the Catholic Relief Services team to visit an ongoing food security project funded by 🇨🇦 in Akot, Lakes State. The project supports livelihoods for youth in agro-pastoralist communities to reduce conflict.
