Wheeled Edgy Women live for more of their lives in poor health. As many women attempt suicide as men, with more men completing suicide. There are distinct sex and gender challenges, and we should unite rather than divide.

In the second of a two-part series shadowing doctors working in the most deprived communities in Scotland I joined David Blane in his Glasgow practice. The complexity was overwhelming.

Great to know that our regulator will allow behaviours ranging from committing sexual assault to spreading harmful misinformation about vaccines, but to speak out about the climate crisis, the greatest threat to human health, is where GMC draws the line.

Just had a really good experience with my practice nurse getting my smear test. She offered different options (inserting speculum myself/playing on my phone), considered my chronic pain condition and emphasised that of I needed her to stop at any time I could. /1

…yet our medical education still reduces decolonising curricula to a few slides showing eczema or psoriasis on Black or Brown skin.

When our services are so unequal, shouldn’t that be highlighted somewhere (everywhere?) in our teaching…

And I really fancy better funded perinatal MH & obstetric care, improved maternity pay and parental leave, more affordable childcare options & better workplace support against discrimination.

That might improve future wellbeing too.
