These sketches were drawn by Thomas William Nye while serving with The Black Watch in India during the early 1920s. Born in London, Nye was a Private in the Bedfordshire Regiment before he transferred to the 1st Battalion, The Black Watch in 1919.

During the Burma Campaign, Dr. Matthew Marshall Campbell, a Royal Army Medical Corps officer who was attached to the 2nd Battalion, The Black Watch in the later stages of the War, used medical supplies to counter tropical diseases and poor hygiene.

The Royal Regiment of Scotland has launched its Regimental Induction Cadre for newly trained soldiers. 9 soldiers accompanied by a corporal were hosted by the Regimental Secretary, Tim Carmichael, to a tour of the museum & lunch in the Waterloo Room.

This watercolour sketch by William Dunn Montgomerie, donated to the Museum, depicts Mesopotamia (Iraq). Montgomerie, a Black Watch member, served in the Battle of the Somme before travelling to Baghdad with the 2nd Battalion in 1917.
