One of our rangers spotted this delicate wall brown butterfly at St Helen's Duver on 1 May - one of the first of the year.
Which butterflies have you already seen this year?

What will you hear this ?
At Newtown, the creeks & woodlands fill with bird song as the sun rises & you might even be lucky enough to hear a nightingale. Over open grassland, such as on Tennyson, Mottistone & Culver Downs, skylarks will be singing.

In the April sunshine, bluebells are carpeting the woods at Mottistone & Borthwood Copse, & the bracken covered slopes of Ventnor Downs.

Want to help look after them? By not standing on bluebells, staying on paths & not picking them, we can all protect this springtime favourite.
