Access to healthcare needs is not just “putting on extra clinics”

As the waiting times increase, it’s becoming even harder to access healthcare - lack of flexibility, lack of staff, rushed communication, shortened appointments, no time for holistic care or understanding people

We have lots of meetings and we keep talking, yet communication is the biggest problem in healthcare- both for patients & with other staff groups

Maybe we are speaking with the wrong people? Asking the wrong questions? Affirming our own beliefs? Making assumptions?

We need to stop saying “hard to reach” patients

Many patients are disadvantaged by OUR approach, design & biases in healthcare

This is why it’s so important to have a diverse workforce and co-design with patients

Maybe the problem is us in healthcare- not them

There’s so many benefits to starting small with change 🌺

“Big Bang” changes can be chaotic, uncontrolled, confusing & unappreciative of environmental factors
