Our work 'Novel WRN Helicase Inhibitors Selectively Target Microsatellite Unstable Cancer Cells' is published today in Cancer Discovery (aacrjournals.org/cancerdiscover…). Using genetic tools, in 2019 Cancer Dependency Map Sanger and others reported WRN as a synthetic-lethal target in MSI cell line. 1/5

This is an interesting study and the below data fits with our observations that TRAIL-mediated killing is most important at low E:T ratios. Still a bit open how much there’s heterogeneity between cancers on the relative importance of TRAIL vs FAS vs granzymes etc

Paper is out today! Took 2 years. Cell Systems was great review process all around. Spent some time at Science but editor quit mid-review and one reviewer didn't see the point 'we know cells have memory, is it just that this shows more of it?!'
