Really happy to see this collection of articles fully out in the world, i.e. in an issue. A project begun during the pandemic when our caring demands, needs, and capacities stretched immeasurably. Much gratitude to all involved!

Faith Ringgold is the only artist who carried me from young childhood to my college dorms to my first apartment to my home with my partner. She has been the visual backdrop to my entire life. I’m so thankful for her love and genius. Rest in peace and power.
