We are living in an age of polarization - among communities and across regions - with a devastating impact on sustainable development.

Solutions to global problems are within our grasp – by reimagining cooperation and uniting for a better world.

It was great to host this event and talk to UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner about worrying trends in global development, including distrust of democratic institutions in a year when almost half the worlds population, 60+ countries, have elections!!

The UN’s Human Development Index, a measure of global standards of living, fell in 2020 for the first time since its launch in 1990. It fell again in 2021. Although the index is now rising, these charts show that progress has been slow and uneven econ.st/3Ve1TMV 👇
