More than anything, Moms For Liberty wants to use popsci narratives about reading to radicalize you toward their base issues: persecuting trans kids, driving a wedge between teachers, kids & parents, and getting tax credits.

In all my years in a testing grade, I have yet to see a single test passage centering the language, culture or experiences of urban Black or Brown youth & their communities.

I can only assume this is by design.

M4L cares so much about literacy that it didn't even make the agenda when Gov. Kim Reynolds attended their Iowa summit in 2023!

Instead the focus was on 'rooting out 'indoctrination'' by ending critical race theory, gender affirming care, & social-emotional learning. #priorities

It is disheartening but not surprising that another strict SOR advocate is also ok with bigots who ban books as long as it isn’t their precious decodables.

Listen, if you are willing to not only support but amplify a hate group to promote yourself you are not an advocate for kids. If you can put aside that a group has actually tried to erase LGTBQ books and representation from schools you have no credibility. 1/2
