ಹಂಸಾನಂದಿ Hamsanandi हंसानन्दि Reminds me of Meghaduta, Kaalidasa says this beautifully-

त्वन्निष्यन्दोच्छ्वसितवसुधागन्धसम्पर्करम्यः

वार्त्ता च कौतुकवती, विमला च विद्या
लोकोत्तरः परिमलश्च कुरङ्गनाभेः।

The amount of relaxation men experience with their close friends is never experienced with their mothers, partners, siblings or any other relatives.

Such faulty reading is especially deplorable because almost no one would confuse trivarga (Dharma, Artha and Kama) with trivarna.

Bharathan Inspired by प्वालः । pvaal’s take down of amateurish (bordering on the clownish) Sanskrit etymology, often found in (but not restricted to) Indology.

Bharathan प्वालः । pvaal TLDR;

The Sanskrit word for wheat गोधूम has been interpreted in the Indology circles as गो+धूम where they think धूम=dust, saying wheat has the same color as गोधूली. But धूम=smoke, ≠ dust, hence cow smoke🤡.

The real etymology is गुघ् (cover) + ऊम (protect).

NARCISSIST Bharathan प्वालः । pvaal That is always possible. But it makes sense. ಉಮಿ is used even today used to refer to the covering chaff in Tulu, Havyaka and Mangaluru Kannada. The meaning of गुध् is we established with many attested usages (see Ganesha Krishna (gaṇeśa kṛṣṇa)’s Ramayana reference.
