'Scotland still only has responsibility for approximately 20% of its overall ‘social security’ budget so decisions taken at Westminster continue to drive everyday lives in Scotland. Does this 20% offer...a ‘slice of hope’'? Prof Sharon Wright LSE Blogs blogs.lse.ac.uk/politicsandpol…

Benefit capped households won't see a penny more from today's benefit uprating. New briefing out today from Nuffield Foundation-funded Benefit Changes and Larger Families project shows the harms the cap causes and explains why families can't escape the cap. largerfamilies.study/publications/n…

An amazing read. If you can make some time, please do. This eloquent presentation of the reality of solo parenting is impactful, and I recognise so much about this in my own experiences now as a lone parent to my teenage son.

For me, the £20 uplift to Universal Credit was a game changer. It could be a game changer again. We also need to end the 5 week wait for Universal Credit. Great ideas for change from Jo Changing Realities speaking alongside Child Poverty Action Group Sara Ogilvie BBC Woman's Hour today. bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0…

'With the best will in the world, as a parent you can't constantly hide the reality from your child. 'No' is a regular word in our household. We're two of many.'

In a general election year, nothing should be more important to our political leaders than making things better for the country’s poorest kids.
