'People doing strange things with electricity' (and making new opera).
Tonight Dorkbot London returns! And I'm giving a quick tour of the original tech I created to realise Giant, my composition for Britten Pears Arts. As seen at The Linbury Royal Opera House. dorkbotlondon.org

I'm looking for new theatre work! Fresh from Giant (my opera which sold out at The Linbury) I'm on the lookout for new projects. I'm a composer and sound designer creating original notated music, electronic scores, music machines - anything to do with sound and music on stage.

Tidying kit after the last night of Giant. I'm going to miss those wonderful performers and creative team. This was an ensemble piece from start to finish. Thanks to all who came and experienced it -and to Royal Opera House + Britten Pears Arts for championing new electroacoustic work.

One of the most disturbing acts in the era of the grave robbers...

A new opera from visionary composer Sarah Angliss, Giant tells an extraordinary story that resonates through the ages.

Giant is on stage in our Linbury Theatre until 15 March: bit.ly/3Pc3E9u

Thrilling to watch BSL interpreter Clare Edwards on the Linbury stage, Royal Opera House for Giant last night. Clare Edwards interpreted every detail of the vocal score - even embodying electronic shimmers and thereminised voices. All the emotion I'd aimed for was there. Loved it!

I’m still unsettled by Sarah Angliss’s brilliantly eerie and atmospheric new opera, Giant, which is on at Royal Opera House. You can read my review for Times Culture here:

Was great to talk with Jillian Olesen at Cycling '74 about my approach to sound and music. Giant's soundworld mixes voices and instruments with bespoke techniques I've been developing in Max. And it opens at The Linbury, ROH next week. roh.org.uk/tickets-and-ev…

For people at IKLECTIK asking: the song I ended with last night was Palaces of Gold by the great Leon Rosselson. I took a few liberties with the lyrics - it's now 'prime ministers' private daughters'. He wrote it in '68 in memory of Aberfan - could have been yesterday.
