The bollard: a simple, yet effective piece of public infrastructure which 'enhances street life in many ways', including keeping us all safer. And anything but an 'eyesore'!

'A too-wide 59th Street and the two 'Killer Intersections' of Grand Army Plaza and Columbus Circle create a wall of fear and isolation between Midtown and Central Park.'

Another example of how roads can be connecting (for car) and disconnecting (for people) at the same time.

Congestion pricing is a great step forward, but now requires that we democratize the use of our street space to prevent the wealthy from further owning, speeding on, & dominating our streets.

Streets like 59th may become even more of a divide, & a danger.
