When Labor MPs go back to their electorates, they tell people they want climate action.

But here is Peter Khalil, Josh Burns, Ged Kearney and Justine Elliot all voting to ram through a bill to fast-track big gas projects and silence First Nations voices.

People won’t forget.

I have waited 26 yrs for today. In 1998 Tas Lib and Lab combined to destroy Tas Parlt democracy to get rid of ⁦Australian Greens⁩. I saw our Parlt desecrated as they actually cut out the crossbench- legislatively and physically removed it. They failed. Parlt is restored.

“A gentle man with a curious, tough intellect.”

That’s a very good description of Tim Colebatch, who has died after years of great journalism for The Age and others.

RIP, Tim.

Congratulations to Steph Hodgins-May our next Senator for Victoria 💚

Steph is inspired and hardworking, kind and considered.

I know she will represent the Greens with courage and determination, and can’t wait to see all she achieves.

On Wednesday I was told to go to freo police station to be arrested under suspicion of conspiracy. 2 detectives from the counter terror unit were awaiting my arrival. They put me in handcuffs and I asked what changed as the incident I was being arrested for occurred months ago 1/

Labor teamed up with the Liberals to vote down the Greens amendment which would have increased the Disability Support Pension to above $88 a day.

Labor's Disability Services and Inclusion Bill could be transformational for people with disability. Instead, it fails.

Labor’s anti-refugee Bill has passed the Senate. As was the case in the House, only the Greens were opposed. No ALP, LNP or independent Senators were prepared to fight against arbitrary punishment and mandatory prison sentences for breaches of visa conditions. A dark day.

If you serve your custodial sentence, you get released, regardless of your feelings over whether or not it should happen. Locking people up forever because they 'are not Australian' and have committed crimes is abhorrent.

Albanese Gov should be congratulated for acting responsibly & quickly to respect decision of the High Court in ruling indefinite detention unlawful. That’s called respecting the rule of law & the separation of powers. We call on them not to backtrack due to Dutton fear mongering.

So nice to see the government and the opposition have put aside their differences momentarily to focus on what unites them: a deeply profound and unshakeable love for the fossil fuel industry.
