BIMSTEC is a multilateral regional organisation that comprises Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka & Thailand.

BIMSTEC is an acronym for the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation.

#India attempted to isolate #Pakistan by promoting #BIMSTEC as an alternative to #SAARC , exploiting its dominant position in the region. By prioritizing BIMSTEC, India aimed to bypass Pakistan and create a new regional bloc that excludes its western neighbor. However, #Nepal , as
