It’s so bleak that MPs have voted down the amendments to the #DomesticAbuseBill . All survivors of domestic abuse should be able to safely report and access protection, not just those with the right immigration status.
Arrogance is thinking you have nothing new to learn. #JudicialTraining must be implemented in the #DomesticAbuseBill if change is possible.
all survivors of domestic abuse deserve protection, support, and safety.
that’s why it’s crucial that the House of Lords passes key amendments to the #DomesticAbuseBill going to Parliament this week (1/3)
It's indefensible; why would the #ToryCriminals vote against the stalker/domestic violence register! Bastards!
1.6 million women & 757,000 men experienced domestic abuse over the past 12 months!
Stalking behaviour is identified in 94% of murders!

The #DomesticAbuseBill has been signed into law. Huge respect and kudos to the campaigners who worked relentlessly to get us to this milestone.
It WILL make a difference. But the struggle will continue until the gaps in this bill are attended to. 1/3
It’s bittersweet to see #DomesticAbuseBill signed into law today - whilst it is indeed progress & campaigners should be congratulated, this Act could have been & could have helped so much more. No support for migrant women still, no statutory funding. Shame on our Govt. Women's Equality Party
With respect to our views above on whether the law in reality will be applied equally it was disappointing when the #DomesticAbuseAct #DomesticAbuseBill #DABill gained Royal Assent it was described as a law tackling 'violence against women and girls'. Not an inclusive start!
We need a #DomesticAbuseBill that protects all survivors without discrimination. We are joining Latin American Women's Rights Service - LAWRS Southall Black Sisters & EVAW Coalition urging the Govt to listen to migrant survivors & ensure the Bill provides #ProtectionForAll #StepUpMigrantWomen

We officially have Nicole Jacobs as the Domestic Abuse Commissioner now and the DA Bill gets Royal Assent 🎉
I look forward to seeing all the future work not just from our commissioner
but from us ALL ✊🏽
Let’s do this #DomesticAbuseBill
We now have a Domestic Abuse Commissoner and the #DomesticAbuseBill has now received Royal assent.🎉 This is a good start but we have so much more to do to end violence against women and girls. For more change vote Women's Equality Party on the orange 🍊 ballot paper on the 6th May.
Today the #DomesticAbuseBill receives #RoyalAssent
Everyone working in #ukhousing should be aware of all 7 Parts of new #DomesticAbuseAct - #Part4 of course is obvious but there is so much more. Watch our website for details of our next webinar outlining impact on #housing in May
The #DomesticAbuseBill will receive Royal Assent today. Despite the multiple improvements to tackle this heinous crime, we cannot celebrate its movement towards becoming an Act because it fails to protect migrant women. #StepUpMigrantWomen 1/8
Congratulations to Latin American Women's Rights Service - LAWRS EVAW Coalition Southall Black Sisters and all other brilliant #StepUpMigrantWomen orgs successfully campaigning for #domesticabusebill to protect ALL. Home Office must now accept House of Lords amendments in UK House of Commons
We are thrilled that the House of Lords voted to include safe reporting mechanisms for migrant survivors into the #DABill . We'll continue advocating for ALL women's right to report abuse safely, access support & justice, irrespective of their legal status. #StepUpMigrantWomen
So deeply disappointed that the amendments to ensure equal support for migrant women were defeated yesterday. If the #DomesticAbuseBill was to be truly transformational it needed to support all women #StepUpMigrantWomen
Domestic abuse is not a gendered crime, it’s a crime ....
Male or female can be affected as domestic abuse does not discriminate
#domesticabuse #equality #domesticabuse bill
I am so pleased to see the #DomesticAbuseBill get Royal Assent today. It's down to the tireless work of many people. Here I outline some of the wins. Hard work ahead and more to do but for today let's celebrate.
We are deeply saddened by the defeat of migrant amendments at the UK House of Commons. The #DomesticAbuseBill will not be 'landmark' bc it does not protect us & the women we support. We'll continue campaigning for all women to be safe, irrespective of their status #StepUpMigrantWomen
The new #DomesticAbuseBill rightly recognises children as victims if they see, hear or experience abuse.

To my incredible colleagues at Women's Aid & in the VAWG sector who have worked relentlessly on the #DomesticAbuseBill , & survivors who have given their time to inform this important legislation, you're all amazing 💜🙌 Now let's continue campaigning until ALL women are protected
I am tweeting every MP who voted against #Amendment42 #DomesticAbuseBill I would like a reply as to why you voted this way. Will you care enough to respond? If you do not, I will assume you don’t even understand.
