Language matters. But I’d argue that changing from “homeless” to “unhoused” is less important than changing to unhoused *neighbors.* Understanding that unhoused folks are your neighbors and have the same attachment to your neighborhood that you do is key. #HousekeysNotHandcuffs
“If a homeless person says no (to shelter), there will be consequences,” mayoral candidate Joe Buscaino just said of his proposed ballot measure, promising it would end street camping in Los Angeles through a “FEMA-like response” and then enforcement.
