In Feb I led the Irish delegation to UN Committee on Economic, Social & Cultural Rights (ICESCR)

I want to ensure our obligations under ICESCR stay on the agenda between UN presentations & I met with civil society groups & relevant Gov Depts to keep the issues to the fore.

In June 1993 #Ethiopia ratified the Intl Covenant on Economic, Social & Cultural Rights (ICESCR) obligating it to ensure all persons possess a degree of security of tenure which guarantees legal protection against forced eviction, harassment, and other threats.…

The right to work encapsulates a right to equal opportunity to work as well as freedom from discrimination in the workplace. As Jamaica has ratified the ICESCR, the provisions therein are legally binding on the state.

Holding the vision & trusting the process
