On #EndCorporalPunishment day our Education Minister responded to Peter McReynolds MLA question stating that corporal punishment doesn't occur in our schools.
Yet his own department acknowledged how Art.4(1)(c) wording is not in line with UNCRC.

Yesterday, Minister for Keeping the Promise Natalie Don MSP led the debate at Scottish Parliament on the Children (Care and Justice) Bill.
Now passed, the Bill will help Scotland take a big step forward in embedding #UNCRC principles and Keeping the Promise.

The Bill plays a vital role in Scotland’s desire to embed the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child Children's Right's in law. At the final vote the Bill passed with SNP, Green, LibDem, Alba MSPs voting For (79). Labour and the Tories voting Against (49).
