*STILL no ISB reviews happening.
*IICSA recommendations STILL not actioned
* STILL no redress scheme.
* STILL no spiritual counselling available to survivors.

When will synod members wake up as to the highly abusive way CofE is treating survivors of Clergy abuse?

The UKs legislative proposal to the IICSA inquiry’s on mandatory reporting of child sex abuse could be taken directly from Jehovah’s Witnesses policy. Many international governments have denounced JWs for this type of policy and here the UK want to instead make it law!

Why CofE needs PCR3!
Past cases review 1+2 had a huge problem. Neither identified if dioceses HAD blue folders on all clergy. We know from IICSA that many blue folders went missing, into 'naughty boys cupboards'.
Dioceses should have 1st identified if they had ALL folders.

Plans to ban sex education for those “under 9” are to be released by the DfE tomorrow.

The government has learnt nothing from The Independent Inquiry into Child Sex Abuse (IICSA).

This is not a victory for children. This is not a safeguarding success.

The IICSA public inquiry recommended that there be an offence of failing to report child sex abuse - 'mandatory reporting'.

The government has very deliberately introduced legislation designed to look as if it is doing this, but in fact which achieves NOTHING.

DBS - see letter in advance of Dr Suzanne Smith giving evidence to IICSA mandatenow.org.uk/wp-content/upl… + extract from IICSA exchanges. DBS is staggeringly porous as the IICSA recommendations indicate. Also there's no MR of known + suspected CSA. IICSA's limp MR recommendation fails all

The government has published amendments to the Criminal Justice Bill on the mandatory reporting of child sexual abuse, in response to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA).

We are concerned that these proposals will not effectively prevent or protect children

IICSA’s examination of religious organisations revealed a shameful history of child sexual abuse and subsequent cover ups. By not enshrining mandatory reporting in law, the Government is failing to hold institutions accountable and protect children. secularism.org.uk/news/2022/10/n…

10 years ago this Friday, survivors met with Theresa May, the then home secretary and were promised IICSA.

10 years on, the Church of England hasn't implemented a single promise or recommendation in full.

No independent safeguarding, no redress scheme, nowt. Zilch, zero.

Jo Maugham The IICSA (Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse) into the historical sexual abuse in British institutions said that child abuse flourishes in society when children aren’t given the vocabulary to describe it.

Clearly the govt are going against its findings. Sinister stuff.

“I have nowhere she could go” says counsel for local authority about a 14 year-old girl in desperate need.

This is the dire, unforgivable state of our children’s care system.

Remember when IICSA recommended Cabinet Minister for Children, and government replied: not necessary.
