This week is about raising awareness of resources for people affected by sexual crime. MAF works with children and adults affected by childhoood sexual abuse. We offer a range of therapies and support.

#ItsNotOk that *I* felt guilty for reporting my abuser, & feel *grateful* to the police/courts that the man who abused me(online grooming, photos etc age 11/12) was sentenced for it, (as he pleaded guilty) So many don’t get that justice, which is absolutely not good enough.

It's really not ok that only 1.3% - 1.6% of rape complaints result in a charge & even fewer go on to be convicted in the courts.
It's simply not good enough & totally unacceptable!

I was abused by a teacher at #StJosephsIpswich when it was #delasalle As a result of that, like far too many others, I have had to fight like hell to feel 'ok' without realising it for decades. #ItsNotOk that I still have to restrain myself from going to his house to do damage.

Language is very important:
Some..perhaps well intended say to victims & survivors:
'Well done for speaking 'Your Truth'.

It's not 'Your Truth'
it's simply ...'THE TRUTH'

There's no excuse for rape
