Here is my (cut short) #JobsSummit speech. The summit certainly didn’t deliver everything I wanted for people with disability, but as a queer, disabled woman it was an immense honour to be in the room. Here’s a🧵on a few behind the scenes takeaways from my time there. 1/

Saw a clip of Peter Dutton on #TheProjectTV again criticising the #JobsSummit because it was full of 'Union Thugs'.
Spud is a hypocrite because he has previously been quoted as being 'a proud member' of the Qld Police Union for the duration of his career as a police officer.
Speaking at #jobssummit about the need to invest in skills:
“In the public service a lack of investment in skills and staffing, over-reliance on outsourcing and a failure to develop staff has limited our ability to respond to the challenges we face and the challenges ahead”
And the Prime Minister in closing out the #JobsSummit thanks the public service for their work and commits his Government to rebuild the public service

✅ Age Pensioners who want to work can earn an additional $4k
✅ Improving workplace bargaining to help grow wages
