A flock of 9 Kittiwake high upriver by Tate Modern this morning. I've now seen more Kittiwake than Black-headed Gull so far this month!! I hadn't seen this species here before this year, but this is now the third sighting. Not sure what's going on! #londonbirds

Encountered a Kittiwake on my dog walk last night. Looked tired but not spasming. Still suspect H5N1. Look at the opaque mark on the eye. Returned to the same spot tonight and it sadly was deceased. Hope the seabird colonies aren't as severely affected as the last 2yrs. #H5N1

Cracking morning in the LDV NNR: Slavonian Grebe at Wheldrake Ings plus brief ad Kittiwake, 51 Whooper Swans, 8 Ruff, c300 Blackwits. Common Scoter still Aughton, pr Scaup at North Duffield Carrs and another 140 Whoopers. Also, Whitethroat, Sedge Warbler new for yr York Birding
