Took an hour to inspect the changes in our riparian action areas yesterday.
Wonderful to see the trees growing, Japanese Knotweed dead & Comfrey and Cow Parsley blooming now that grazing pressure has been reduced.

This place is going to look amazing!

From tree planting to tweezer weeding! Our wonderful volunteers are keeping the Woodsia really clean to make sure we aren't translocating any exotic weeds into the wild when it comes to planting.

Last week we were being filmed by Mike and Sherrill for NatureScot with some of our volunteers out on the saltmarsh collecting sediment samples and in the polytunnel. Great fun for us, we hope they got some good images.

Some plants may be dormant on the saltmarsh just now, but we can look forward to flowers, like this Sea-Spurrey.
Saltmarsh plant propagation will resume tomorrow at our regular volunteering session in the plant hub.
