Last month, a lot of people had a total solar eclipse on their minds. This Wood Turtle, however, has a total eclipse forever in its eyes.

While scoping out a new site to potentially do some turtle surveys, Kiley noticed something unusual about one of the Red-tailed Hawks circling above.

Shortly after starting Wood Turtle surveys in New York this spring, Kiley started to see some familiar Wood Turtle butts poking out of the plant and woody debris along the streambanks.

While surveying a stream for Wood Turtles last month, Kiley chanced on this #SpottedTurtle in the stream. He had seen this same #turtle last year in a shallow wetland nearby, but dry conditions this spring may have pushed this turtle to seek refuge in the stream. #Clemmysguttata
Shout out to The Orianne Society. I'm pretty sure I have more framed Orianne prints than anybody on my block. Art for a good cause ( #amphibian and #reptile conservation).
The Orianne Society This beautiful girl is my favorite turtle. I've seen her frequently for the past five summers, but only bother her for a few pictures one time per year, just to follow her progress. Wood turtles' habitats are threatened here in CT - she gets my utmost deference and respect!
I caught this messed-up box turtle today. It has a lot of scutes that are bare-bone like they just flaked off. No obvious trauma and doesn't look like fire damage. Haven't seen this before, need some turtle expertise here! The Orianne Society Turtle Conservancy Turtle Survival
