Today, DOLF Rivers Team, ably represented by the Program Lead Dr. Anne Anne Briggs Phamous, and our PMTCT Desk Officer, Mr. Lekara participated along with other stakeholders and partners, ARFH at the first quarter review meeting, 2024 of the integrated GC7 TB/HIV project.

By taking treatment properly during pregnancy and breastfeeding, women living with #HIV can protect their health and keep their baby free of HIV.

Today, at #HEJNUMbraMediaCafe , I chanced on a 6 month old PrEP-ist.
Exposed to HIV infection through breastfeeding, she takes septrin, daily.

She is left with a 10 month journey to finally get off the medication and hopefully she beats the exposure.

It was great to witness RISE II project closure. 34 women living with HIV were deployed as peers to improve PMTCT outcomes in Morogoro. This is an example of initiatives to reach the missing children. Tanzania is implementing the Global alliance to end AIDS in children by 2030

Like other countries, #Lesotho faced challenges in Early Infant Diagnosis (EID) of HIV-exposed babies & delayed Turn Around Time (TAT) of HIV test results 2 caregivers. The Senior PMTCT&EID Advisor ‘Mafusi Mokone said as part of intervention 2 ensure survival of infected infants

Though babies born with HIV are now growing into adults & thanks to science, we shouldn't have a child born with #HIV of today's combined effective #ARV & #UequalsU .
We shouldn't have a mother-to-child transmission.
Make excuses in the '80s to early 2000s but not this era.
